China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is the main contractor for the standard gauge railway project (SGR) in Tabora – Kigoma lot 6. 1. Healthy and Safety Manager (1 position)
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the project's Health and Safety (H&S) management system.
- Analyze and assess H&S performance on site.
- Report accidents and incidents to the project manager and management system promptly.
- Establish achievable health and safety objectives.
- Allocate necessary resources for achieving the objectives.
- Review and ensure compliance with the H&S Management Plan.
- Conduct on-site investigations following accidents, incidents, and non-conformities.
- Assess project risks and update risk assessment documents.
- Monitor hazards and minimize project risks.
- Provide health and safety advice to workers and address non-compliance issues.
- Stay up to date with health and safety legal requirements.
- Conduct health and safety inductions and toolbox talks.
- Conduct incident investigations and inspections.
- Collaborate with subcontractors to promote accident prevention activities and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or related field.
- Completed OSHA Course (Nosch 1 & 2); Nebosh certificate is an advantage.
- At least 8 years of experience in Rail/Road construction with knowledge of IFC Performance standards.
- Age: under 45 years.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
2. Environment Engineer (1 position)
Responsibilities:
- Support the Environmental and Social (ES) Manager in implementing and monitoring the project's E&S system.
- Report environmental incidents to the ES Manager.
- Supervise and inspect subcontractors regarding environmental issues.
- Assist in assessing and eliminating environmental risks.
- Place proper environmental warning signs in designated locations.
- Monitor and report environmental aspects and impacts at the site.
- Conduct environmental site training and toolbox talks.
- Follow up on corrective actions from incidents, inspections, audits, and complaints.
- Conduct environmental monitoring activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Completed OSHA Course (Nosch 1 & 2); Nebosh certificate is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in Rail/Road construction with knowledge of IFC Performance standards.
- Age: under 45 years.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
3. Health & Safety Technicians (3 positions)
Responsibilities:
- Communicate health and safety requirements to the Health and Safety Manager.
- Assist in developing and implementing the project's health and safety plan.
- Monitor hazards and minimize project risks.
- Provide health and safety advice to workers and address non-compliance issues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Assist in injury management and return-to-work processes.
- Compile and report monthly statistics.
- Participate in workplace health and safety meetings and programs.
- Conduct toolbox talks regularly.
- Promote sound health and safety practices.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science/Engineering/Geography & Environment studies/Diploma or related field.
- Completed OSHA Course (Nosch 1 & 2); relevant certificates are advantageous.
- At least 3 years of experience in Rail/Road construction.
- Age: under 35 years.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Ability to independently complete various tasks and write reports and daily updates.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with consultants and employers.
4. Environmental Technicians (3 positions)
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Environmental Engineers.
- Conduct daily environmental inspections.
- Enforce compliance with environmental instructions.
- Implement environmental precautions at the site.
- Conduct weekly site inspections for environmental compliance.
- Conduct environmental trainings and toolbox talks.
- Assist in site sampling and tests.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the project's environmental plans.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or related field.
- Completed OSHA Course (Nosch 1 & 2); relevant certificates are advantageous.
- At least 3 years of experience in Rail/Road construction with knowledge of IFC Performance standards.
- Age: under 35 years.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Ability to independently complete various tasks and write reports and daily updates.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with consultants and employers.
